THE 2010 SHELL
AGRICULTURAL ART
AWARD
The aim of this award is to
promote Western Australia’s Agricultural Societies to bring
knowledge of agriculture to the people of Perth and to ensure that paintings of a
rural nature are available for public viewing and purchase at the
Royal Show.
2010PERTH ROYAL
SHOW
The Royal Agricultural Society
(RAS) invites artists to submit entries through any RAS affiliated
Agricultural Society for initial judging in the preliminary heats
which will be conducted during 2009 up to
30th June 2010 at Local
Shows. The winning entry from each RAS affiliated Agricultural
Society will be nominated by that organization for the final
judging of the Agricultural Societies Art Awards at the 2010 Perth
Royal Show.
The sale of exhibits on display is
optional. Exhibits “Not For Sale” are to be marked NFS on
back.
2010 OPEN - ANY
MEDIUM
“Best Painting of a Rural
Nature”
Exhibits which have received an award
in other competitions other than the pre-selection by the RAS Affiliated
Agricultural Societies or have been accepted for exhibition in
previous competitions, will not be eligible for the 2010 Perth
Royal Show.
All exhibits must be the original
work of the exhibitor and must have been completed within two years
before date of pre-selection judging.
All paintings and drawings must be
framed and must be capable of being hung.
(Artists should not use kit frames,
however, if unavoidable, then hardboard backing).
Exhibits must not exceed 120cm x
120cm x 10cm including frame.

ALL PICTURES MUST be equipped for
hanging with wire or cord, but not necessarily
framed.
An Entry may be RECLASSED if
considered appropriate by the Judge.
*SECTION 18:
Any painting, any medium entered in
the Art Sections may also be an Entry in The 2010 Shell
Agricultural Art Award - Theme “Of A Rural Nature”. Nominate each
painting by indicating on Art Entry in the RAS Art Award Entry
Column and include the additional entry fee for each nomination.
More than one Entry may be nominated.
SALE OF WORK:
1.
Pictures may be for Sale with 10% commission going to the
Society.
2.
Art Pieces for Sale MUST have Title and Price on Entry Form and on
the back of picture.
3.
A Steward will be in attendance from 3.45-5.00 pm for anyone
wishing to purchase work.
“Novice”: A person who has never won a prize in that particular
medium.
Choose subject carefully - strong subject composition will provide
better work.
